Mantas, Sharks, and Whales… Diving San Benedicto Island

by Jim and Pat Stayer

Experience San Benedicto; a volcanic island 250 miles south of the tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. Here you encounter large creatures on a daily basis. Several species of whales and large sharks, including hammerheads, tigers, and Galapagos sharks, gather around this island. A highlight of many dives are the huge mantas that seek out diver’s bubbles to play in. Close encounters with these gentle giants are an experience you will never forget.
